The atelier
ALEF is a Beirut studio that paints before it prints.
Every ALEF print begins as an original painting, made by hand. The painting is photographed, then recoloured by hand for each colourway, and printed on silk.
We never show a painting flat and whole online. You will only ever see it worn, draped, or in detail. That is how we protect the work, and the women who wear it.
